Wix app market

Importantly however, and unlike Squarespace, you can’t use Zapier with Wix — which ultimately makes it harder to cater for third-party integrations.

Another way to integrate services, of course, is to use a HTML block and copy and paste code from third-party services into it. Both Wix and Squarespace facilitate this.

Ultimately I feel that Squarespace probably has the edge when it comes to integrations. The built-in options cater for a lot of the key services you’ll probably need to connect, and for much else, you can use Zapier. Wix’s app store, whilst featuring quite a lot of useful add-ons, is missing some key integrations, and there’s no option to use Zapier to address this.

Forms, data capture and email marketing

Forms

Both Squarespace and Wix allow you to create basic data capture forms pretty easily.

In Squarespace, you can choose to create either a ‘form block’ or a ‘newsletter’ block; the first option allows you to design your own forms from scratch (these contain your own choice of fields), whereas the second, as its name suggests, is a simple affair that captures name and email address only.
